VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

Club-Wide

President: Member of the Board of Directors; oversee all club business; runs Board meetings; delegate club duties throughout the season; attend 4-5 board meetings annually.

Vice President: Member of Board of Director; assist President in club administration; assume presidency in 2006-07 season; attend 4-5 board meetings annually.

Registrar/Secretary: Member of the Board of Directors; manage online registration process; create team rosters; attend and take minutes at 4-5 board meetings annually.

Assistant Registrar: Shadow current Registrar through the 2005-06 season registration process and ensure that all club players are current in their US Lacrosse registration; assume role of club Registrar/Secretary in 2006-07; attend 4-5 board meetings annually.

Treasurer: Member of the Board of Directors; maintain finances for the club, pay bills and consult on club expenditures; attend 4-5 board meetings annually.

NCJLA Board Member: Member of the Board of Directors; represent Tomahawks on the NCJLA Board of Directors; attend NCJLA Board meetings; attend 4-5 Tomahawks board meetings annually.

Fund Raising: Organize and promote various fund raising activities within the club; interface with San Jose Stealth in Give and Go ticket purchase promotion; work with Publicity to promote Tomahawks in the community.

Publicity: Promote Tomahawks in the community through the local media, especially at registration time; notify local school newsletters of registration and season games; coordinate events with fund Raising Coordinator.

SpiritWear Coordinator: Order SpiritWear merchandise and distribute for sale among the various team sales representatives; maintain merchandise inventory; coordinate sales at home games, parents nights and other events.

Website Liaison: coordinate website information with club's website management and webmaster; act as conduit for team information to be posted on site; report to Board on site effectiveness and usage.

Division-Wide

Division Commissioner: Member of the Board of Directors; coordinates all aspects of division management; serves on Board of Directors; work with division scheduler and field liaison during pre-season; maintains team hotline pre-season and throughout the season; works with registrar during registration period; distributes league, club and divisional information to team parents and coaches; assist with the coaching selection process; attend 4-5 board meetings annually. Time commitment: September - May

Division Scheduler: Schedules division's season games, home & away with other NCJLA teams; coordinates w/ Field Liaison to establish home field dates; time commitment: December January for game scheduling; throughout season for rescheduling as needed. [Prior to 2005, all season games were scheduled by NCJLA; this was the first season teams were responsible for their own scheduling. NCJLA has received a great deal of input on how to make scheduling easier and more uniform. The process should run much smoother in the coming season. This is one of the most important jobs in the club! Attention to detail, knowledge of lacrosse and the skill/playing levels of our teams would be very helpful but not necessary.]

Field Liaison: Request and schedule field space for practice and home games; act as contact between field entity and teams; follow up on special space requests as needed; advocate for Tomahawks field usage when needed; coordinate field lining and equipment maintenance with those individuals; oversee that usage rules are being followed by teams and fields are well maintained. Time Commitment: January - May [Field space for youth sports on the mid peninsula is at a premium; this individual is essential for being the "face" of Tomahawks when dealing with local municipalities.]

NCJLA Representative: attends NCJLA Delegates by-monthly meetings; represent Tomahawks interests with the league; report to Division Commissioner. Time commitment: September May.

Field Lining & Maintenance: Line field at beginning of the season and reline throughout as needed; coordinate with Field Liaison; keep lining equipment and provide it to teams when needed.

Equipment: Purchase and distribute team equipment (balls, timer/scorer box, first aid kits, goals, etc); responsible for off season equipment storage in rental storage space.

Uniform Manager: Order shorts, new jerseys and pennies as needed through lacrosse equipment vendor; distribute uniforms at beginning of season and collect/store them at season s end for storage in rental storage space.

Game Day Set Up: Coordinate set up of timer table, scoreboard, chairs and referees beverages for all home games; collect and store equipment at games end; work w/ field liner to refresh lines as needed.

Photography Coordinator: Coordinate photography day for divisional teams with team photography assistants; select and work with photographer; distribute team photos at season s end.

Awards Coordinator: Order and distribute team awards at season s end for each team in each division, working with coaches and team parents.

Team-Wide

Team Parent(s): Coordinate team volunteers; act as information conduit between the club, players and coaches; provide assistance to coaches as needed; assist in game transportation; coordinate snack, timer and scorer schedule; order team awards and certificates; oversee organization of team party and purchase coaches gifts; general team majordomo! [This position could be split between two people based on even distribution of duties]

Game day Set up: Coordinate with division game day coordinator

Scorers & Timers: Work home game table

Stats: Enter team stats on website after each game; provide coaches with pertinent team information.

SpiritWear Sales: Maintain team spirit wear stock and sell at home games; coordinate w/ club spirit wear manager.

Photo Day: Assist divisional photography coordinator with paper work and photo set up; distribute team photos at season s end.

Water Jug: Maintain team water jug and ups for each game.

Parents are required to select a volunteer duty during registration. Those who opt-out must pay a $250 non-volunteer surcharge on top of registration fees.
