2008 Parent Introductory Meeting is January 13th, 2008 at 7PM
Our annual parent information night will be held this year at the Lucie Stern Community Center on Middlefield Road in Palo Alto. This year we will have breakout rooms for all teams to have team introductions and discussions after the league overview. The session starts at 7PM in the Main Ballroom. This is a mandatory meeting for parents, and especially important for those whose children are new to the Tomahawks program. We will discuss the Tomahawk Program for 2008, introduce several new programs that we are beginning, explain volunteer requirements, and also give the individual teams and coaches the chance to communicate plans, requirements, and expectations for the season. Tomahawks Sign Agreement to Play, Practice 'Under the Lights' at Gunn High School in Palo Alto
By Bill Glazier, Club President
With field space at such a premium on the Peninsula, youth sports clubs are constantly scouting for potential field space. The Tomahawks are been searching for a real 'Home Field' for a long time, and are pleased to announce that we have come to agreement with the Palo Alto School District to use the Main Football Field at Gunn as our Home Field for the 2007 Season, with hopes to continue this on a long term basis. We'll use Gunn for practices for our Juniors and High School Boys' program in the evenings during the week from February-May, and will also use the Gunn Football Field and the two lower fields at Gunn for games on weekends during the regular season. Special thanks to Steve and Diane Ciesinski for their help in negotiating with the Palo Alto School District and the Gunn Sports Boosters; Joe Fusco, our Fields Czar, for help in navigating this through the permit process; and the many Tomahawks parents who were willing to contribute to a fund to help Gunn install lights on their football field and make this agreement possible. Your assistance was instrumental in making this happen - and we believe this agreement will provide us a stable home for many years into the future.

Tomahawks to Sponsor Girls' High School Team in 2007
by Pam Madeira, Girls Commissioner
Exploding interest in girls' lacrosse has led the Tomahawks to sponsor a Girls' High School Program for the 2007 season. With the support of the Tomahawks, and the cooperation of Earl Hansen, Palo Alto High School Athletic Director, we'll be fielding a new team which will play as one of the 15 High School girls' teams in the Northern California Junior Lacrosse Association. We'll be able to practice frequently at Palo Alto High School, and expose the sport to the many female athletes at that school. Girls interested in participating on the team should contact Sherry Bijan (s.bijan@att.net)
